郭选昌，1991年留学德国卡塞尔大学，1993年作为“国际杰出艺术家”定居美国，任加州圣地亚哥州立大学教授、美国国际中国美术家协会副主席、北京大学客座研究员。曾受美国白宫邀请，为克林顿与乔治布什两位总统雕塑肖像。被纽约《曼哈顿艺术》评为“富有国际声誉的艺术家”。曾获美国“总统雕塑奖”、“英国剑桥20世纪杰出人物成就奖”。1999年受中国国务院邀请出席国庆50周年阅兵大典。2003年受邀出任重庆大学人文艺术学院院长、博士生导师。郭选昌的大型青铜群雕作品《重庆大轰炸》、《百万三峡移民群雕》、《记忆山城》等曾获全国优秀城市雕塑大奖。郭选昌的雕塑作品气势磅礴，享誉国内外，被中国国家美术馆、中国军事博物馆收藏，在美国、日本、德国、澳大利亚、巴西等国被受推崇。
Xuanchang Guo, professor of San Diego State University in California, vice chairman of the American International Chinese Artists' Association, guest professsor of Beijing University, studied in Universitaet Kassel in Germany, and settled in America in 1993 as an outstanding international artist. He was once invited by the White House to sculpture for President Clinton and George Bush and was commented by Manhattan Art as a world-famous artist. He won the American Presidential Sculpture Award and the Eminent 20th-century Cambridge Celebrity Award. In 1999 he was invited by the Chinese government to attend the celebrating ceremony of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. In 2003 he was invited as dean of the School of Arts and Letters of Chongqing University and as doctoral supervisor.His famous works the Japanese Bombing of Chongqing, the Massive Movement of People in the Three Georges and Remembering Chongqing won Excellent All-China City award. His splendid world-famous sculpture works have been collected by the Chinese State Gallery and the Chinese Military Museum and are highly respected in America, Japan, Germany, Australia, and Brazil.
